I purchased the Altra Torin on Amazon.com for an excellent price, about 65% off in store prices. I was excited to try out the zero drop style running shoes. All reviews tout its usefulness in order to experience a more natural run. I have to admit for short distance runs I did experience a comfortable run. However, there is still work to be done to support heavier runners (like me) on long distance runs. I broke the shoes in wearing them walking and in an around activities. The first few 4 mile or less runs no issues. However, when I took the shoes on 8 mile and 13.1 mile distances the bottom of my feet were sore for days. Normally at those distance wearing my Saucony Breakthru running shoes I do not experience this soreness. Recommend for a comfortable walk and short runs but look for more support for long runs.
